Motorway Extends Auction Window to Better Serve Dealers
In a significant move for car dealers, Motorway has announced that it will be starting its daily auctions at 4:30 PM, three hours earlier than the previous start time of 7:00 PM. This adjustment is aimed at providing dealers a larger window to bid on premium used-car stock, enhancing their business operations and flexibility.
The new auction schedule allows car dealers to participate in two auction sessions within a single working day, starting from 4:30 PM and continuing until 3:30 PM the following day. With up to 2,000 cars available for bidding in each auction, dealers now have greater chances to source high-quality vehicles.
Understanding the Importance of Flexible Auction Timings
Dan Seligman, Director of Dealer Services at Motorway, emphasized that the decision to change the start times was taken in response to dealer feedback. He noted that operational flexibility is crucial for dealers wanting to grow their businesses. This update aims to streamline the overall auction process and enhance the dealer experience.
Exploring Added Benefits for Dealers
With the extended auction hours, dealers can continue to leverage Motorway’s proxy bidding feature. This tool allows auctions to be conducted even when dealers are not actively logged in, thus ensuring they do not miss out on valuable bidding opportunities. Furthermore, Motorway’s integrated payment system simplifies transactions, reportedly saving around 13 minutes per deal.
What This Means for the Automotive Industry
The enhancements implemented by Motorway reflect a growing trend toward optimizing dealer services across the automotive market. By prioritizing the needs of dealers, platforms like Motorway not only ensure efficiency and convenience but also foster a competitive environment that ultimately benefits consumers through increased access to quality vehicles.
