WOMAC Welcomes New Leadership
The automotive charity, Women On the Move Against Cancer (WOMAC), has announced the appointment of its new Chair, Nicola Humphreys. She takes over from Georgia Fox and brings a wealth of experience as the Founder and Managing Director of Imprimatur Group and Coding Ketchup.
A Commitment to Cancer Advocacy
WOMAC, which has been a prominent figure in cancer fundraising within the automotive sector for 45 years, has raised over £1,000,000 to support cancer charities. Humphreys, alongside an all-female committee that includes Trinity Francis (Vice-chair) and Natasha Colne (Treasurer), acknowledges the operational challenges faced by the automotive industry today. 'As WOMAC comprises volunteers who all work in automotive, we understand the current cost challenges,' she stated during her acceptance.
Focus on Effective Fundraising Strategies
Humphreys plans to prioritize a thorough evaluation of WOMAC's existing fundraising strategies to ensure their effectiveness in the changing landscape of the automotive industry. She emphasized the importance of maintaining strong connections with vehicle manufacturers and suppliers for ongoing support and contributions, which are crucial for sustaining WOMAC's impactful initiatives.
Inclusivity at WOMAC
While WOMAC’s leadership is female-dominated, their initiatives are designed to be inclusive, inviting male allies to join as Friends. The outreach aims to unite the entire automotive community in the fight against cancer, broadening the circle of support.
Moving Forward
As HUMPHREYS steps into her new role, she embodies WOMAC's mission of collaboration and advocacy within the automotive community. Under her leadership, the organization looks forward to innovating its fundraising efforts and further supporting those affected by cancer.
