Ben Strengthens Leadership to Enhance Charity Mission
In a pivotal move for the automotive industry charity Ben, the organization is strategically enhancing its management team through several key appointments. This comes at a time when the charity seeks to reinforce its mission while tackling challenges in the evolving automotive landscape.
New Leadership Roles Bring Diverse Experience
Leading the charge is Martin Smith, who steps into the role of director of finance, governance, and impact. With over two decades of experience in the charity sector, Smith's background as a finance director for benevolent funds positions him well to steer Ben's financial strategy effectively.
Matt Wigginton, now the director of growth and development, has been integral to Ben since 2015. His extensive background in both commercial and non-profit sectors has driven the charity's partnerships and fundraising initiatives, making him a keystone in its ongoing development.
Enhancing Stakeholder Engagement and Awareness
In a newly created role, Ellen Plumer takes on the head of awareness and experience position. Plumer, who has been with Ben for ten years, will elevate the organization's outreach efforts while maintaining her previous responsibilities in marketing and communications.
Additionally, Sarah D’Addio has transitioned from her role as interim HR manager to head of HR, reinforcing the charity's commitment to effective human resource management during a time of change.
Farewell to Longstanding Leaders
As Ben moves forward, it bids farewell to former HR director Gary Burgham and Zara Ross, who has shifted to become the Transfer Programme Director. Rachel Clift, Ben’s CEO, expressed gratitude for their contributions and recognized the significance of these transitions amidst the changing landscape of the automotive charity sector.
Clift stated, "I’m delighted to welcome Martin, Ellen, Matt, and Sarah to their new roles. They each bring unique strengths, deep knowledge, and an unwavering commitment to Ben’s mission." This sentiment underscores the charity's focus on resilience and adaptability in facing the challenges of the automotive industry's future.
