Shoreham Vehicle Auctions Hits £38k Milestone for Charity
In an inspiring show of community spirit, Shoreham Vehicle Auctions (SVA) has successfully raised £38,000 during its annual charity auction for Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice. This latest effort brings the total funds raised since 2011 to an astounding £340,000, significantly contributing to the care provided for children and young adults with life-limiting conditions across Sussex and southeast Hampshire.
Community & Dealer Contributions Shine Bright
The generous donations from car dealers on the south coast were pivotal to the auction's success. A total of 27 vehicles were auctioned, with notable contributions from Yeomans Group, which donated a remarkable 20 vehicles. Other contributors included Tates Group, Frosts4Cars, Birchwood Group, and Hendy Group. Additionally, racing driver Nathan Edwards added excitement to the auction by donating four VIP tickets to a Vertu MINI CHALLENGE JCW round during a British Touring Car Championship event.
Impact of the Funds on Local Families
These contributions are vital, as the funds garnered through SVA’s efforts directly support a variety of essential services offered by Chestnut Tree House, including hydrotherapy, respite care, and multi-sensory activities that enhance the quality of life for families grappling with challenging circumstances. Alex Wright, the managing director at SVA and a patron of the hospice, emphasized the local motor trade's commitment to this cause, stating, "Every donation, bid, and vehicle sold helps make a real difference."
A Gratitude for Continued Support
Stuart Palma, CEO of Chestnut Tree House, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support. He acknowledged the remarkable achievement of raising over £340,000, recognizing the collaboration between SVA, dealers, and the auction buyers as a beacon of hope for the community.
Why Supporting Local Charities Matters
Supporting local charities fosters a sense of community and responsibility among businesses and individuals alike. The recent charity auction not only aids in meeting the immediate needs of families but also cultivates a sense of belonging and shared purpose within the south coast motor trade.
The ongoing support from local dealers and generous individuals showcases the powerful impact that community-driven initiatives can have, particularly for vulnerable groups. Every contribution, no matter how small, reinforces the message that together, we can make a positive change in the lives of those who need it most.
