Swansway Expands Its Electric Vehicle Presence in Stoke
Swansway Motor Group has officially opened its third BYD dealership in Stoke, adding to the growing number of electric vehicle (EV) options for local customers. Alongside this, the group has also launched its latest used car supermarket, Motor Match, in the same location, revitalizing a previously vacant commercial site on Victoria Road, Fenton.
David Smyth, the Director of Swansway Motor Group, expressed pride in transforming the empty property to better serve the community. He stated, “We are delighted to be taking over a commercial property in Stoke which has been vacant for over 12 months and putting it to good use. Our partnership with BYD has started positively, and we are keen on providing our customers with a versatile selection of vehicles.”
The new BYD Stoke and Motor Match Stoke aim to cater to a diverse clientele, building on the previous success of Swansway’s dealerships in Chester and Crewe. Recent statistics indicate that sales of BYD vehicles in the UK have surged, with a notable rise within just the first quarter of 2025. This flush of interest in electric vehicles reflects a broader trend across the UK as consumers increasingly choose sustainable transportation.
Since entering the UK market in early 2023 with its Atto 3 model, BYD has introduced several subsequent vehicles including the Dolphin, Seal, Seal U DM-i, and the all-new Sealion 7. These models are part of BYD's ambitious plan to expand its retail network to 120 dealerships in the UK by the end of 2025.
With the increasing popularity of EVs and sustainable practices within the automotive industry, the opening of these new sites is a significant step for Swansway. As the demand for electric vehicles continues to grow, customers in Stoke can look forward to enhanced options that meet their transportation needs.
